James E. Camel

MD, MS, FACS

James E. Camel, M.D., M.S., F.A.C.S. is a physician with Association of South Bay Surgeons. Dr. Camel is interested in advanced laparoscopic techniques and regularly performs endocrine, cancer, neck, breast, colon, and rectal surgery.

Dr. Camel earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois School of Medicine in 1988, where he graduated with James Scholar Honors. Dr. Camel then went on to complete residencies in general surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and the University of Southern California, Los Angeles County Medical Center in Los Angeles, California.

Additionally, Dr. Camel completed a fellowship in pediatric surgery at the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

Dr. Camel currently serves as Chief of Surgery at Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Torrance, California. He is active in many hospital committees and published multiple scientific papers in well known medical journals.
